Many pre-made/packaged, canned and box foods have added ingredients, ie added sugars, oils, or other unnecessary ingredients/allergens you may not be aware of. So while these added ingredients may not be bad for you, it’s important to understand where you are getting those added calories from so that you can make a choice as to what foods you’d prefer to eat with that extra sugar (carbs) or fat. Therefore, it is always best to make foods from home when you can so you can control the amount of protein, carbs, and fats that make up your meals to achieve your desired goals.
